Best portable speaker system! By Donald Bruce Jones
I spent countless hours researching portable speaker systems. After reading many web site and owner reviews I narrowed my choices down to four models. The first model was the Altec Lansing InMotion im7. I wasen’t able to find this model in any store so I could listen to the sound quality for myself, so I eliminated it. The others were also Altec Lansing based on good reviews. First up was the InMotion im600, Second was the m602 and last the Bose SoundDock Portable. My final decision came down to the ability to listen to these three models side by side.
There wasen’t any real comparison after a listen to the Bose. They blew the other two away. Great base and great highs. I was sold. I do realize the Bose are pricy but like most people out there, these are not my first IPOD speakers but the will be my last. Go for it and get the best first. The Bose are the way to go!

JBL On Stage II Speaker and Docking Station for iPod (Black)
Set your music free as only JBL can do it with the black On Stage II iPod speaker system. The compact yet powerful high-performance system employs a quartet of Odyssey neodymium full-range drivers to fill your room with clear, accurate sound and all the volume you (and your friends and neighbors) can handle. It’s the perfect accessory for bedrooms, smallish apartments, basements, and any other space where a full-size speaker system is pure overkill.The On Stage II incorporates Apple’s universal iPod dock adapter, which works with most docking versions of the iPod, including the iPod video 5G and 5.5G and the iPod nano 1G and 2G. Simply slide your iPod into the dock and you’re set–no additional cords to connect or adapters to fuss with. As an added convenience, the On Stage II also offers an auxiliary input for connecting a variety of other portable audio devices, including the iPod shuffle, personal MP3 and CD players, desktop and laptop computers (all platforms), and satellite radio receivers. As long as your portable audio device has a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack connection, you can play the audio through your On Stage II speaker.
As a bonus, the On Stage II comes with a wireless remote control, giving you the freedom to enjoy your music from across the room or in another room–up to 50 feet away (including through walls). The system itself, meanwhile, includes easy-to-use touch controls for the volume and mute, and even remembers your last volume setting after it shuts down. The system, which offers a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz, measures 7 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall and weighs 1 pound. It’s also backed by a one-year warranty.

JBL build quality, style and sound at a good price. By Samuel ChellI’d recommend the JBL On Stage II for several reasons: the material and build quality along with the attention to detail; the unique, eye-catching saucer design along with a handy, sensitive remote switch; “tight” audio, with exceptionally crisp treble frequencies and adequately deep but not boomy bass.
The cons: Even though the bass is fuller and less distorted than on its smaller sibling, it lacks the convenience of the JBL On Stage Micro, which operates on both batteries and AC (moreover, the power adapter on the Micro is smaller and lighter); the On Stage II has been on the market for a while (2006) and is not fully compatible with recent Apple equipment (e.g. video transport for a Nano 3G or iPhone synching). It plays and charges my Nano 3g and Classic 160 gig but only plays my Touch 2g. In a pinch, it will work fine without the included adapters.

Great with minor issues By Peter J. Roberts
The CD player remembers where it was only during the pause-state, and the pause-state doesn’t last very long. Turn it off, and you’ve lost your place. This is a minor issue, because a small pad and pencil an resolve it.
Considering that the external FM antenna, in my location, does not have to be extended, it would have been nicer to have an FM antenna built-in and just have the external antenna for those of us far from a signal source.
Other than that, my wife has been delighted to be able to listen to any kind of current CD, her iPod, or a USB flash drive with music files on it (the drive has to be formatted as a Windows flash drive, which can be done on an OS X Mac as well as on a Windows PC), or listen to the radio.
The sound is very pleasant to listen to and is high quality considering the size of the speakers. In fact we intend to get a second one for another location in the house.

The Altec Lansing iMT620 inMotion Classic is a “Works with iPhone” and “Made for iPod” certified portable stereo system that includes a digital FM radio. Not necessarily an upgrade By ostawookiee
-The range of sound goes from very soft to very loud in good step increments. I was very pleased with the range.
-There are only 4 radio presets on both models
-All the typical navigation controls are there, except for a way to easily “jump to next album/artist”. There is a fast forward, but its use for scanning to next FM station is touchy.
-They work great with the iPod classic, however, both have extreme difficulty with the iPod Touch (2nd Gen 8GB). They wouldn’t always play, and if you switched source and came back, or if the Touch timed out and turned itself off, they weren’t able to pick up playing again. If you try to manually do it with the Touch, it plays from the Touch speaker even though it’s in the dock. The Touch also doesn’t sit well on the dock due to its thin size.
-The cords are both are 6 feet.
-Neither has an AM tuner.

So Much **MORE** Than Just An MP3 Player! By Alex Honda
This is my first iPod and MP3 player. So far I’ve had the iPOD TOUCH (32-GIG/3RD GEN) for two-weeks and I’m loving it.
It’s does so much more than just play music, which is why I wanted one. I’m not a Mac person at all but the iPod Touch…I love it.
Out of the box it found my Wi-Fi connection and had me surfing the net (the real Internet and not the cell phone web pages like the one on my Verizon phone). It was intuitive to use and I’m finally getting accustomed to using the touch screen to scroll and type away.
Apple iPod nano 16 GB Black (5th Generation) NEWEST MODEL
iPod nano now has a built-in video camera that lets you spontaneously shoot video wherever you are. And that’s just the beginning. It has a dramatic, polished anodized aluminum finish and a larger screen. The new Genius Mixes feature acts as your personal DJ, automatically searching your iTunes library, then making mixes you’ll love. Take iPod nano anywhere and the new Pedometer counts your steps. Also making its debut: a built-in FM radio with two amazing features–iTunes Tagging and Live Pause. So the world’s most popular music player now has more to play with.

It Seems They are Running Out… By Stephen Hall
Do not get my wrong. I have loved Apple iPods for many years now, and my iPhone is a great part of my life. However, I have started to wonder what else will be added to the traditional iPods, to keep them fresh. Have they reached the limit of necessary features?
Despite my reservations, watching the Apple keynote of this new product has led me to head down to the Apple store and pick up a 16 GB 5th Generation iPod Nano, to add to my “collection.”
Apple iPod classic 160 GB Black (7th Generation) NEWEST MODEL
The new iPod classic comes with 160GB of storage in the same compact size, making it the take-everything-everywhere iPod. It’s available in quintessential silver or striking black. iPod classic also has plenty of battery life (up to 36 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback), good looks (a sleek, anodized aluminum design), and other great features (Cover Flow and Genius playlists for creating perfect playlists). You can even rent a movie from iTunes and watch it on the go.

My favorite iPod to date. By Alex
The new 160GB iPod Classic is easily Apple Inc.’s best iPod to date, and out of all of the iPods that I own, this is my favorite.
First, the capacity of this iPod is simply unbeatable. I’ve yet to see another portable media player that can match the iPod Classic in capacity. I have a huge music library, and it’s nice to be able to carry every song that I own on my person at all times. What’s more, thanks to the iPod Classic’s capacity, I also have room to carry a few videos with me, and some of my photos. If you don’t like having to pick which songs to load onto your portable media player, the iPod Classic is the way to go.
Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB Black (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL
iPod shuffle is jaw-droppingly small and enormously colorful in black, silver, pink, blue, and green. And even more brilliant, the VoiceOver feature tells you what song is playing and who’s performing it. It can even tell you the names of your playlists, giving you a new way to navigate your music with the controls located on the earphone cord. Clip a 2 GB or 4 GB iPod shuffle to your sleeve, running shorts, or backpack and take up to 1,000 songs wherever you go.

Great Portable iPod, but could use better headphones By S. Johnson “Lep
When I first got the new ipod shuffle, I knew about the problems that some were having with exercising and sweat causing the ipod to malfunction, so I also bought the Belkin Headphone Adapter to go with the ipod. Using it with the adapter, I have had no problems and the player works wonderfully. I love the size and the fact that this ipod can be clipped onto your shirt and you can’t feel it there, even if you’re running (as I do). The Playlist feature is the best thing about this player and what makes it better than the last generation Shuffle. I have multiple playlists on my new Shuffle and it works flawlessly.

Blackberry Rim 8520 by pinknblu “jenn“
I gave it a four because when I first got it, it took me time to see and get used to the keys because they are kind-of small. If you want bigger buttons get 8330, my sister has one, wish I could switch with hers, but mine is newer and no tracking ball, which I really like to.. about this phone. Its sleek and easy to navigate..Before I had this one I had the 8120, ah–big difference the charge on 8520 last longer and takes a little time to charge up, but its worth it. Also, the keys I wished lighted up a bit brighter, BUT like I said once you have it after a few days you get used to it. My one problem with as I am thinking off the top of my head ..is there are not enough apps to go with or themes made for this model.
I am a geek for that, but as of now I have been able to download a few off my blackberry 8120 to my 8520.

The smallest, lightest, and best Blackberry around By Tarun Chachra
I have used a blackberry for over 10 years now…give or take. I have always been impressed by the devices they have created in the past and the current line of devices. Since I like to be on the bleeding edge of tech, I just had to get a 8900.
Most of you know by now what the new feature sets are of blackberries that are out today. The bold, the storm, and now this one The JAVELIN.
I wont go into too much detail but I will give you my quick run down.

NOT WORTH IT, By Karen Blanco
I purchase this phone thinking it was one of the best out there. But is, in fact, a complicated and boring phone.
First of all, is SLOW, way too slow. If i want to take a picture, i literally have to wait for almost a minute and a half for the camera view appear, and then i have to wait another minute just for saving it.
Another thing is the graphics, even though the cellphone has a big screen with a pretty good resolution, all the graphics and themes are horrible….

Buy this bad boy! By Craig Hartley “hotdog”
I’m a photojournalist who bought the Lexar 16 gig UDMA card for my new Canon 5D Mark II. I’ve had occasion to use the card on a variety of assignments and for spot news during the Stanford Financial meltdown.
The card is perfect, never a hint of bogging down or image corruption no matter how fast I shoot. This is partly due to the camera, of course, but the fast write speed of the Lexar keeps up when shooting those massive 21 megapixel images or high def video. I also appreciate that Lexar lets you download “Image Rescue 3″ for free when you buy the card…

Kindle 2 : First Impressions from a Kindle 1 owner By P. Inhofe
On the one hand I love my Kindle 1… I use it everyday, I subscribe to my favorite newspaper, I mark up my books with annotations, highlights and bookmarks.
On the other hand my Kindle 1 annoys me… unintended page changes, the awkward way I sometimes have to hold it to keep from hitting buttons, the sometimes slow page refresh, and the screen freezes that now has me traveling with a paper clip lest I need to do a reset while commuting on the train.
I’ve had the Kindle 2 in my hands for almost a day and have carried it on one commute. What follows is my “first impressions” review of the Kindle 2 from the perspective of an owner of the original K1. What’s different, what’s better and what’s worse?…

Top 10 Deals in Electronics This Week
I will compile a list of top 10 best deals in electronics to have for 2010. Some gadgets are cheap while few are pricey. Nevertheless, these are the best deals you can find this week. I found discounts up to 78%!!
If your budget allows and you “need it” then go for it!
Please note, this list particularly not in any order. The first one is not the best; the last one is not the worst. And obviously you don’t have to buy all of them or any one of them.
What about me?
Well, I own few – but definitely not all!
Garmin nüvi 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Bluetooth and Maps of U.S, Canada & Puerto Rico
* Quick to lock in satellites, even on cold start
* Accurate directions
* Smooth scrolling
* Customizable display
* Lane Assist works nicely and I like it. Useful feature.
* Junction View works nicely and I like it, but in my opinion it is not nearly as useful as Garmin would lead you to believe. A photo realistic image of upcoming street signs flashes across the screen for about 5-8 seconds, with an indication as to which lane you should be in.
* Bluetooth connected with my Blackberry no problem
* Ability to send addresses from my computer to the unit wirelessly. I’ve used it. It works.
* Small/lightweight (unlike my old C550)
* MSN Direct works well. MSN Traffic seems to work well, although some other reviewers prefer Lifetime Traffic. I think that is a matter of personal preference, and also depends on where you live. I live outside of Washington, DC, so MSN coverage is strong.

The keyboard is more on the large side for me (larger keyboards seem to be the norm now). Otherwise, it is top-notch and one of the best keyboards I’ve ever used.
The mouse earns high marks for its ergonomics, styling, performance, and innovative hyper-scrolling feature – It’s the best mouse I have ever used, and I’ve run through quite a few from Logitech.
Overall, the desktop set has performed exceptionally well and I have never encountered any quirks or annoyances.
